January 15 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm$35.00
2009 International Blues Challenge Champions and 2012 Blues Music Award nominees, JP Soars & The Red Hots features JP Soars on lead guitar and vocals, Chris Peet on drums and Don Gottlieb on bass. The trio is from Delray Beach, Fla. JP Soars is not a typical blues guitarist. He has a diverse musical background that encompasses a multitude of influences.
He loves T-bone Walker, Jesse May Hemphill, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Muddy Waters, Johnny Guitar Watson, Guitar Slim and Louis Jordan. But he also loves Tito Puente, Miles Davis, Hank Williams, Black Sabbath and Slayer. Soars toured the globe and recorded several records with some of the most extreme metal bands in the world before finding his home in the blues! All this, plus Jason Ricci, Internationally known harmonica player.
Jason Ricci is one of the best and most imitated blues harmonica players of the 21st century.
He picked up the instrument as a teenager when he started playing in a punk rock band. His journey started in earnest when he watched and later was mentored by legendary harmonica player Pat Ramsey in Memphis. As Ricci gigged and grew as a player he found work and support from the southern blues community. He lived and played with Junior and David Kimbrough in Mississippi and then worked as a sideman with Big Al and The Heavyweights for more than a year. A show you won’t want to miss!
