Mike Kach/Billy Seward Band

January 16 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Featuring the many talents of keyboardist and vocalist Mike Kach, who has been performing since he was 12 years old, when he began appearing with his band every Saturday at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT. Over the years he’s played with notable musicians including Chris Layton & Tommy Shannon, Dan Toler & Frankie Toler, Greg Poulos, Gregg Allman, Allen Woody & Warren Haynes from the Allman Brothers Band, Floyd Miles, Rick Derringer, Charlie Daniels, and Johnny Neel. You never know which national artist may be making an appearance as well! He’s also opened for Buddy Guy, Lonnie Brooks, Leon Russell and others. He toured nationally with Molly Hatchet and recorded with Chris Anderson on his “Old Friend” album. Most recently, he’s been a member of Dickey Betts & Great Southern. Kach’s piano playing is astonishing, fast and fluid. His throaty, driving vocals carry the songs.

Billy Seward’s musical identity is the tale of 2 cities. Beginning in Chicago, with the West Side Blues masters Otis Rush and Magic Sam being the original inspirational source, then heading due south a days ride to Memphis, where the pulsing driving rhythm’s and horn counterpoints of Hi Record’s section drove singers like O.V Wright, Otis Clay, Syl Johnson and of course Al Green to the highest of high’s. From the moment Billy heard Otis Clay singing in a small Chicago North side club, he was hooked and followed that musical trail down to Memphis.

At a time when rock blues guitar seems to define what blues is to many, Billy brings his voice to the front with a rich blend of deep soul and big city blues, paired with the crisp clear bite of the West side drenched blues guitar, a combination that can both excite and soothe but will always satisfy.

Accompanied by Burt Englesman on bass, and Steve Camilleri on drums.
